“Children are educated by what the grown-up is and not by his talk”
Being a parent is such an important and life-changing role, and the responsibility of it, while beautiful and inspiring, can at times be terrifying.
Many of the psychological theories and modalities are based on parent-child relationship and understanding of that crucial dynamic, and during individual therapeutic work, at some point I have almost always found myself taking the developmental perspective of “exploring” with the patients childhood years, the importance and impact of those early experiences, as well as relationship with parents and caregivers.
As a part of my practice, I work with parents with many different levels of need: from understanding more about how the way they were parented impacts the way they parent, to exploring different attachment styles and behaviors, resolving parenting conflicts and own sense of guilt and responsibility, to parent-coaching and implementing behavioral strategies and techniques.
